A bonus of taking a Rick Steves Tour is that every tiny detail is thoughtfully figured out beforehand, and the conveniences this gave us was invaluable. For instance, by having the names of our hotels we were able to get a room at the same hotel prior to the tour starting and not have the hassle of packing back up to change hotels. It also gave us a chance to explore our surroundings and get our bearings before the tour began.
On our 1st day, we met with our group and tour guide, Etelka-whom we fondly thought of as Aunt Etelka after time went on. Her exuberance and genuine awe-struck nature would have made you think it was her 1st tour, but her experience quickly proved it was not. We took a walk through the Old Town neighborhood, weaving through crowds with ease and care, all the while casually sharing space with beautiful architecture, points of interest (such as the Astronomical Tower), and art that was older than our own country...ya know, just a typical Sunday. During our walk, Etelka shared information about buildings, artists, notable Czech people-historic and current, her own experiences and tips for our time spent outside of the group. We got to know those in the group by sharing this new experience, which also lead to organic conversations about "who we were" and "how we got here."

Once we arrived at the restaurant we were sat in a very private and beautiful space. The evening was a wonderful way to get to know our group, enjoy delicious food and drinks, and listen to a private performance by the Castle Orchestra. *Side note, if you have watched the original Rick Steves Prague episode, you will recognize these amazing musicians!
After dinner, we were on our own. Most of us walked back through town, enjoying the nightlife and sights together before heading back for a good night's rest...well, after some gelato that is.
